Hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the People's Government of Hainan Province, the World New Energy Vehicles Congress (WNEVC 2019) will be held on 1-3 July 2019 in Boao, Hainan Province. Organized by the China Society of Automotive Engineers (China SAE), China EV100, MIIT’s Hainan Office, and CAST’s Hainan Branch, the three-day event will bring together the industry leaders and think tanks from around the world at the frontier of NEV development. The congress will discuss the best practices of techno-business innovations and government policies for the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry. It will also explore the development trends and effective pathways of the future mobility.

 

The next wave of automotive revolution is underway - represented by the accelerated and integrated development of electrification, intelligence, and shared mobility, all of which will have a significant, far-reaching impact on the global economy and social development. To better understand the latest NEV technology advancement, promote their applications, and enhance NEV collaboration between China and the world, WNEVC will award the “Cutting-edge and Innovative Technologies” at the Plenary Session.

 

Definition for Cutting-edge and Innovative Technologies:

 

“Cutting-edge Technology” refers to a forward-looking, pioneering, and exploratory technology that has a high potential to be an important fundamental technology in the future NEV product development and the industry’s transformation and upgrading. Cutting-edge technologies must be in the fundamental research stage and are expected to achieve industrial applications within 5-10 years.

 

“Innovative Technology” refers to a novel technology that has existing application(s) solving technical difficulties and bottlenecks in the key areas of NEVs. Innovative technologies must already have industrial application(s) with product(s) in volume production.

 

The Award Areas consisting of：

·Vehicle integration and control systems

·Power batteries

·Hydrogen Fuel cells

·Powertrain and drive systems

·Intelligence

·Lightweight and advanced materials

·Energy infrastructure and supply

·Other emerging NEV technologies

 

The “Cutting-edge Technologies” will be nominated by the WNEVC Science and Technology Committee (STC Committee) only and the “Innovative Technologies” will be nominated by the public, media, and the STC Committee. Please refer to Attachments A.

 

WNEVC is calling for research institutes, universities, and enterprises around the world to submit candidate technologies; each organization can submit only one technology for award nomination. It will follow the principle of voluntary participation, i.e. the whole application process and all information revelation will be on a voluntary basis.

 

WNEVC also invites cooperative media to submit nominations for the “Innovative Technologies”. Please visit our website http://enselection.wnevc.com for online submission.
